As you may know, Epcot is known for their countries and diverse food and drink options. Additionally, Epcot is known for their festivals! There are multiple festivals throughout the year that include very unique treats, but today I am going to be talking one specific dessert from the Flower and Garden Festival.
The Flower and Garden Festival takes place every spring in Epcot. This year, the festival runs from March 6 to June 3, so there's still some time left to go! This festival is definitely one of my favorites because of the beautiful flowers and topiaries, as well as the delicious drinks and snacks. My only regret was that I should have went to the festival on an empty stomach, because I wanted to buy a lot of treats but I was full from lunch! Because of this, I did not try a lot of things, but I do want to tell you about the amazing gluten free cake I had!
I cannot say enough good things about the gluten free mixed berry buttermilk cake! This cake is served with apple cider ice cream, which was refreshing and gave the cake some extra flavor. The cake was soft and had good texture, which is sometimes hard to achieve when using gluten free ingredients. The mixed berries were kind of sweet, which I liked. You can find the buttermilk cake at Arbor at The Gardeners Terrace at Epcot's Flower and Garden Festival. This building is right before the start of World Showcase so it can be your first stop on your way into the festival, or your last stop for some dessert on your way out! One thing I liked about The Gardeners Terrace is that it is indoor so the air conditioning feels really nice, especially on those very hot Florida afternoons. Additionally, there is shopping and some tables set up inside, so it is definitely worth checking out!
If you've had this cake or any other gluten free treats at the festival, please let me know! I have heard great reviews about the gluten free crispy citrus chicken, as well as the gluten free chocolate macaron lollipop! Unfortunately, I will not be back in time to go to the festival again, but hopefully they will have these items on the menu next year so I can try them!
Here's a tip: Disney has the letters GF written in an orange box next to all the items that are gluten free at their festivals. This makes it easy to determine if the item is gluten free, but you can still always ask because sometimes they can modify other items to make them gluten free as well! The employees at Disney are very knowledgable and helpful when it comes to allergies, so I always recommend that you ask them what they can do to accommodate your allergies!
That's all for now! Let me know your thoughts and reviews on the Flower and Garden Festival in my "Contact" section. Thanks for reading!
